Three Brooklyn men charged in plot to join ISIS, commit acts of terror in United States, Feds say Wednesday February 25 th , 2015  at  3:58 PM New York City Stories From Newsday 1 Share Three Brooklyn residents were charged with attempting to join the Islamic State and discussing acts of terrorism ranging from the murder of FBI agents to assassinating the president, according to a complaint unsealed Wednesday in at federal court in Brooklyn. Prosecutors said two of the men -- Akhor Saidakhmetov and Hasanovich Juraboev -- were about to travel to Turkey and then Syria to join the Islamic terror group, while defendant Abror Habibov was helping to fund their efforts. In postings on a website that supports Islamic State, Juraboev said he would commit an act of terror such as killing the U.S. president if ordered to do so, and Saidakhmetov expressed an intent to buy a machine gun and kill FBI agents or police if his plan to travel to Syria was thwar
