How do you know that those "many people" who did those things (participated in Holocaust as executioners and accomplices by torturing and murdering thousands of Jews and non-Jews) knew that "those things" were "terribly, terribly wrong"? Are you able to read what was on their minds? Can you prove your point? I think that you got it wrong. There is no reason to whitewash this issue and conduct some type of a witch hunt because the truth was mentioned openly.
