The Insiders: The Islamic State is entirely a creation of Obama’s policies

As reported by Robert Costa in The Washington Post, Republicans are blaming the president not only for allowing the Islamic State to develop as a terrorist organization in the first place, but also for failing to effectively combat the group as it has grown. Yet there appears to be some objection to Republicans calling President Obama out on his lack of a foreign policy strategy. Well, yeah. The Islamic State is 100 percent a creation of Obama’s policies. Plain and simple.
Iraq security forces withdraw from Ramadi, the capital of Iraq's Anbar province, 115 kilometers (70 miles) west of Baghdad, Sunday, May 17, 2015. Suicide car bomb attacks killed over 10 members of Iraqi security forces Sunday in Ramadi, which now is largely held by the Islamic State group, authorities said. Last week, the militants swept through Ramadi, seizing the main government headquarters and other key parts of the city. It marked a major setback for the Iraqi government's efforts to drive the militants out of areas they seized last year. (AP Photo)Iraq security forces withdraw from Ramadi, the capital of Iraq’s Anbar province, on Sunday. (Associated Press)
By his own admission, Obama announced the “end” of the Iraq war, standing in front of returning troops at Fort Bragg, N.C., on Dec. 14, 2011. In that speech, he said the United States was leaving behind “a sovereign, stable, and self-reliant Iraq, with a representative government.” There was no Islamic State threat at that time. Fast forward to this month, when the president said in an interview with the Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg the day after Ramadi, Iraq, fell to Islamic State fighters that, “No, I don’t think we’re losing.” I wonder what this administration thinks “losing” looks like? This isn’t a “technical setback.” The losses in Iraq and the splintering of Syria are a direct result of at least three key Obama decisions.
First, Obama let the sectarian Nouri al-Maliki form a government in Iraq, even after Maliki failed to win the Iraqi parliamentary elections in 2010. Second, Obama folded in 2011 and did not ensure that an American fighting force remained in Iraq. Third, Obama refused to identify and groom an allied force fighting against President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. To be clear, Obama is completely to blame for the Islamic State — the “JV team,” in his words — and its rapid consolidation of territory in western Iraq and through half of Syria. We are paying the price for the president’s dithering and his refusal to cultivate and equip an allied force that could shape events inside Syria and western Iraq. As your Insider said on May 18, “A ‘Sunni-stan’ is being created in front of our eyes.”
And since all Insiders readers know that bad gets worse, we can assume the march of the Islamic State will continue unless the president acknowledges some new realities. That doesn’t seem likely, as White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest is incredibly still claiming that the Obama administration’s strategy against the Islamic State is “overall” a success. So there is virtually no chance the president will acknowledge that the borders of the nation called Iraq, ruled from Baghdad, still exists; or that the nation called Syria, with its current borders, will continue to be ruled from Damascus.
Anyway, I have always accused this White House of lacking insight and being incapable of being self-aware — much less self-critical — so despite the urgent nature of world events, the prospect of a wholesale revision of our foreign policy objectives and policies is unlikely.
This lack of insight — the denial, delusion and downright, jaw-dropping inability to deal with the world as it is — was on display Wednesday during Obama’s remarks at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy commencement ceremony. Since the president has been wrong about almost everything else concerning our national security, perhaps he’s wrong about the threat he sees in global warming. These are serious matters, but it’s hard not to ridicule what the president said at the academy. Perhaps if global warming persists at the pace the president desires, maybe it could actually improve America’s strategic positioning. Maybe global warming will work to America’s advantage since Obama cannot. Maybe global warming will cause the islands China is creating to flood. Maybe warm weather will strain the air conditioners in the North Korean laboratories where scientists are miniaturizing nuclear weapons. Maybe another Russian sinkhole will open up and swallow Vladimir Putin, making it impossible for him to continue to humiliate the president. Maybe a drought will somehow inhibit the Islamic State and keep it from murdering the few allies we still have in the Middle East.
Anyway, the Republican voices seeking to replace Obama need to speak with urgency so that the rest of the world will take notice. Obama Massacres Innocent Waco Bikers Over Putin Fears

A new Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) report circulating in the Kremlin today states that the Obama regimes Department of Homeland Security (DHS) deliberately massacred at least 9 innocent motorcycle enthusiasts on 17 May over fears that one of the clubs participating in a yearly rally in Waco, Texas, could possibly be linked to the Night Wolves.
Described by some in the propaganda Western press as “Putin’s Hells Angels”, this report explains, the Night Wolves were, in fact, one of the first organized groups that battled against the Soviet communist regime in the 1980’s leading to the fall of that brutal regime, and who have since have taken an interest in the political and social life of Russia, engaging in youth social issues while forging close links to the Kremlin and establishing a friendship with Putin. They also aided the protection of Ukraine from the US installed Nazi government by patrolling the streets of Crimea with unmarked soldiers sent from Russia, fought for the rebels and are deeply involved with the Russian Orthodox Church.
Led by the deeply religious Alexander Zaldostanov [aka “The Surgeon” because of his medical skills], this report continues, the 5,000 member Night Wolves also have the dubious distinction of being theonly motorcycle club in history to have been sanctioned by the US government forbidding them from traveling to or having/making business with anyone in America.
The Obama regimes fears regarding the Night Wolves leading to the 17 May Waco Massacre, this report says, centered around a small and mysterious motorcycle club known as the Cossacks that began in the early 1990’s in the Caucasus Mountains region of the Federation and had just one World War II-era 1942 Harley-Davidson.
Since the 1990’s, SVR intelligence analysts in this report note, little has been known or reported about the Cossacks Motorcycle Club in the Federation other than “certain members” known to have immigrated to the United States where they revived their organization.
Once these “certain members” of the Cossacks Motorcycle Club immigrated to the United States, this report says, there appears to be little information about them with even Wikipedia failing to note their presence/existence in either their Lists of Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs or List of Motorcycle Clubs.
SVR analysts in this report further note that the Cossacks Motorcycle Club has rarely been mentioned in the American press, with the exception being a 2011 notice advertising their “Annual Mingus Blowout”, in Mingus, Texas, open to everyone and described as a collage-like party with their open invitation stating, “As always, there are No Weapons and No Attitudes allowed assuring a relaxing, fun weekend for all.
Particularly fearful about the Cossacks Motorcycle Club to the Obama regime, this report states, were “intercepted electronic communications” between them and the Night Wolves, leading some SVR analysts to conclude that the Americans were “terrified” of such an alliance forming as the Night Wolves long experience with operating within the confines of a police state regime would give the Cossacks, and any other motorcycle club they affiliated with, invaluable knowledge to battle their nations suppression by the oligarchs now controlling them.
As the internationally prestigious Princeton University had already declared last year that the United States was now an oligarchy, not a democracy, this report continues, the Obama regime had no choice (like all totalitarian regimes do) but to totally eliminate the Cossacks Motorcycle Club over their perceived fears…and which they began with the 17 May Waco Biker Massacre when military camouflaged DHS snipers embedded on the rooftop of the Twin Peaks restaurant began their deliberate killing spree.
Even worse, at least for the American people, this report continues, within minutes of this massacre, and resembling the propaganda “attack” launched against these once free people on 11 September 2001, the Obama regime began flooding their nations lapdog press with so many deliberately false stories relating to these murders it would be laughable, except, of course, for the families of those left dead and dying.
Of particular note about the numerous Obama regime lies regarding this massacre, the SVR says, are the reports that these bikers all began shooting at each other, when in fact the video evidence proves that only one biker fired his weapon in self defense while fleeing from the DHS sniper fire.
Also to be noted about these Obama regime lies, this report continues, was that where the propaganda reports stated that over 1,000 guns were confiscated from these bikers, in fact barely 300 were actually recovered, and nearly all of them were legally possessed under Texas law.
Of the nine casualties who died of gunshot wounds, the SVR further notes, all were sustained outside the restaurant and no shell casings were found around the bodies while eight of the nine were Cossacks and of the eighteen who were wounded they are not expected to be charged, a fact leading one American independent report on this massacre to state: “So much for the narrative that gangs were fighting each other, or that Bandidos were the aggressors.
Even more shameful, this report says, where the Obama regime reports that all of the dead were hardened criminals, but which independent research shows the opposite to be true as nearly all of them had no criminal records whatsoever, including Jesus Delgado Rodriguez, 65, who was a law-abiding decorated Vietnam veteran with Purple Heart and had never been arrested in his whole life.
And in one the most appalling acts of government lawlessness the United States has seen in modern times, this report notes, after this massacre by the Obama regime, 170 of the witnesses who were able to describe the DHS snipers unprovoked attack upon them were immediately jailed with no charges filed and placed under $1 million bond each.
Though the Obama regime propaganda media even now continues to spread their lies about this massacre, this SVR report concludes, the same cannot be said about many still free and independent American news outlets, including the Western Rifle Shooters Association (WRSA) which in giving their thoughts as to why this massacre took place simply stated:
“WACO PD have not been very friendly towards bikers and the FEDS TOTALLY despise Bikers! Why? Because we are not afraid of them or their agenda! We are a threat to them! Remember folks we were able to organize in 24 days 800,000 -1.2 million bikers to DC! We did it WITHOUT their permission or support! They even SHUT DOWN the traffic cams…had the news NOT flown over the scene there would have been NO proof that we rode! Yes, folks, like it or not even 1%’s rode with us! They set aside their territories and rode peacefully! JUST like they do at ALL COC meetings!
Bikers stand up to them, to their Christian hate, their muslim agenda and whatever else they want to throw at us! BIKERS ARE PRESENTLY THE BACKBONE of PATRIOT AMERICA! WHAT BETTER WAY TO BRING THEM DOWN THAN WITH BAD PRESS SUCH AS THIS!”
First they came for bikers…

Yakuza Apocalypse review - berserk mess of a gangster-vampire hybrid

Japanese genre master Takashi Miike comes to Cannes with a yakuza-meets-vampires-meets-monsters movie; no wonder, perhaps, that it’s just a mish-mash
For all its berserk energy, you will need a very particular sense of humour not to lose patience with the prolific Takashi Miike’s latest, which goes under the highly encouraging title Yakuza Apocalypse. Miike, of course, is known for churning out an average of three films a year since the early 90s; and was unable to attend this Cannes screening due to having started work on the next one. However, he did send over an amusing short video message apologising for his absence, in which he appeared in full geisha drag, saying that he had switched professions and would never make violent films again.
That, in truth, was the evening’s high point. When the film itself got underway, it began promisingly enough: Miike whipped up a series of his trademark gruesome fight scenes, as he followed a local crime boss, Kiamura, piloting a young protege, Kagayama, through his neighbourhood – only for us to realise that Kiamura is some sort of vampire yakuza, munching on people’s necks just as they thank him for protecting their business from rival goons. Kiamura can’t resist Kagayama’s perfectly-chiselled throat either, and he becomes turned too – though not before introducing us to the film’s first bit of bizarro comedy business: a basement full of men handcuffed to a set of tables while obsessively knitting. Why ask why?

Migrants Find a Safer Route B Into Europe Via the Balkans

When Abu Hassan fled the Syrian city of Daraa two months ago he was determined to get his family to Europe. He considered putting his family in a boat in Libya to cross the central Mediterranean Sea.
“I decided it’s too dangerous. Not with the children,” says Abu Hassan, who is now sleeping in a park with eight of his family members in the Serbian capital, Belgrade.
Instead, they made their way to Turkey, took a short boat trip to Greece and then paid smugglers to take them through Macedonia, stuffed in the back of a truck with 190 other migrants and refugees, to the Serbian border.
“At midnight they dropped us near the border and said ‘it’s there, go,’”recalls Abu Hassan. They were in Serbia for just 10 minutes when they were picked up by the Serbian authorities, but they were safe. They were told to register at a nearby office an office, which they did before heading north.
The most popular route into the European Union is by boat from Libya across the central Mediterranean, but this year alone an estimated 1,500 people have drowned in the choppy waters off the North African coast.
“It has always been a very dangerous trip,” says Ewa Moncure, a spokesperson from Frontex, the E.U. border monitoring and patrol. “It seems now, that the people traffickers can operate freely in Libya. As soon as they have boats, they send people to sea…some make it and some don’t make it and [the traffickers] don’t seem to care.”
Now, tens of thousands of migrants and refugees — desperate to escape violence and poverty at home — have opted for this safer Balkan land route through the former Yugoslavia and into the E.U. through Hungary. Last month alone 7,000 migrants and refugees — primarily from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan — crossed the frontier between Serbia and Hungary, according to Frontex. Last April, just 900 crossed there.
Abu Hassan doesn’t want to use his legal name fearing it will hinder his chances of remaining in his final destination, Germany. Most migrants who take this route are trying to get to northern Europe. Both Greece and Hungary are in the E.U. but have high unemployment and offer little assistance to refugees and migrants.
In a café near the park, dozens of young men sit speaking Arabic and Afghan, and some Africans converse in French. They talk to their families at home and try to arrange their journeys north to the Hungarian border.
“Most of the smugglers are Pakistanis and Afghanis,” says 25-year-old Mahmoud, who also doesn’t want to give his full name. He sits with a group of Syrians and Iraqis and they debate the best route into Hungary.
Mahmoud spent one month in a Syrian government prison in his native Aleppo. The day after he was released he paid smugglers to take him to Turkey where he had to decide which route to take to Europe.
“Two of my friends died in the sea trying to reach Italy,” says Mahmoud. Both were young men who traveled to Libya. They called home one day about a year ago and told their parents they were boarding a boat to Italy. “Their parents told them ‘good luck’…We never heard from them again,” he says.
Stories like this dissuade some migrants from taking the sea journey from Libya but this route through the Balkans is also more expensive, costing several thousand dollars in smuggling fees and transport. Once in Belgrade, some rent shared hotel rooms or sleep in parks and spend their days waiting in cafés.
The Serbians seem to turn a blind eye to the migrants as if they want them to move on to Hungary as quickly as possible. “Really, the Serbian police don’t want to catch us,” says Mahmoud. “They don’t want us to stay here.”
He echoes the speculation of many here that the Serbian police often look the other way as people attempt to cross into Hungary, making this frontier a weak link in the perimeter of fortress Europe. Rights organizations have also documented Serbian authorities forcibly returning migrants to Macedonia, refusing to allow them to register asylum claims as well as extortion and physical abuse.
While this route might be safer than a “10-meter rubber boat with a 100 people onboard,” in the Mediterranean Sea, Moncure, from Frontex, cautions that it’s not completely safe. And as more and more people take this route through the Balkans, and smuggling becomes increasingly profitable, vulnerable migrants are at risk of exploitation and abuse. Migrants tell stories of being lied to and abandoned by traffickers and taxi drivers, others repeat tales of kidnapping by smugglers who call their families demanding more money to release them.
“The people smugglers aren’t doing it for free,” says Moncure.

US Lawmakers Debate Strategy After IS Gains

Islamic State militants have made significant gains in recent days, following temporary setbacks inflicted by coalition air strikes on their positions. The radical Islamist group seized the historic Syrian city of Palmyra Thursday just days after capturing Ramadi in Iraq. Republican lawmakers in the U.S. Congress are calling for greater U.S. military engagement against Islamic State, but the Obama administration rejects that strategy. Zlatica Hoke has more.
