U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is meeting with leaders of some of the most authoritarian countries of Central Asia. On Sunday, he met with officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in the ancient Uzbek city of Samarkand, to promote U.S. economic and security cooperation with the five former Soviet republics.
