Iran and the Roots of Obama’s Rage

Was Dinesh D’Souza right? Mr. D’Souza is a political commentator who proposed that the best explanation of President Obama’s behavior was not to be found in Obama’s seeming embrace of the radical socialism of Saul Alinsky but in the anti-colonialism of his father. Mr. D’Souza’s theory has been heatedly dismissed by the White House with the admonition that in America we do not judge people by their father’s political beliefs and that Ronald Reagan’s father was an alcoholic.
Fair enough, but then Ronald Reagan never wrote a memoir titled, Dreams from My Father, in which he measured his own life by both the achievements and failures of an alcoholic father that had abandoned him.
The reason that Mr. D’Souza’s 2010 book comes back into focus is Mr. Obama’s Iran deal. If we had doubts about Mr. D’Souza’s hypothesis before, Mr. Obama in recent weeks has gone a long way toward lending confirmation to it.
If you begin with the reasonable supposition that Mr. Obama is not an anti-Semite, then how do you explain his trafficking in contemptible blame the Jews rhetoric in order to promote his dangerous Iran deal? And for those who cannot bring themselves to accept Mr. Obama’s contemptible behavior, even longtime Obama supporter Abraham Foxman said, “Obama was using language—saying those opposed to the deal were cynically motivated to bomb Iranian nuclear sites—that fueled the anti-Semitic stereotyping of Jews as warmongers.”
One would think that after a lifetime of fighting anti-Semitism Mr. Foxman would know anti-Semitic references when he heard them.
So, how do you explain Mr. Obama’s sinking to this level of bullying to promote a deal that is so flawed it loses support daily?
Well, open the pages of Mr. D’Souza’s, The Roots of Obama’s Rage, and things start falling into place. Barack Obama’s view of the world is derived from that of his father’s anti-colonialism.
Mr. Obama accepts the leftist fiction that Israel is the last outpost of colonialism, an accusation too absurd to be considered serious. This is in keeping with Mr. Obama’s relationship with the late Edward Said and Rashid Khalidi, two Middle East scholars who promulgate that idea, and why to this day, the Los Angeles Times will not release the tape of Mr. Obama’s remarks at Mr. Khalidi’s farewell dinner.
This also explains why Mr. Obama joined the Rev. Jeremy Wright’s congregation, a congregation that broke its ties with mainstream white Christianity and embarked on a mission of black power and liberation theology. Wright took a dying congregation and rejuvenated it. His liberation theology and sense of black pride, along with his anti-Americanism and anti-Semitism, spoke to thousands of black Chicagoans who felt alienated and marginalized in white society.
The Rev. Wright’s rage was Mr. Obama’s rage. The Rev. Wright’s theology was Mr. Obama’s theology.
When the Rev. Wright upped the ante of outrageous comments and Mr. Obama had to part company with him, it was “them Jews” that the Rev. Wright blamed for Mr. Obama putting daylight between them. Are we to believe that Mr. Obama sat at the feet of his mentor for twenty years and never knew his sermons were flavored with anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism?
The Rev. Wright simply reinforced Mr. Obama’s view of colonialism. More important, in the black power ideology, colonialism applies to the white domination of the black ghetto.
Obama senior’s inspiration, as his son interpreted it, was to fight colonialism. It is why Obama backs the Palestinians over Israel. As he told the editor of the Electronic Intifada, Ali Abunimah, he was backing Israel as a political necessity to secure support from the Jews in the Democratic Party. As Mr. Abunimah put it, “He (Obama) is merely doing what he thinks is necessary to get elected and he will continue doing it as long as it keeps him power.” As these remarks became public, they appeared so threatening to Obama’s senatorial campaign that David Axelrod quickly denied them.
To reduce America’s power in the world is to reduce America’s potential for strategic dominance, i.e. colonialism, in Obama’s vision. The rise of an Obama-nourished Iranian hegemonic power in the Middle East is an impediment to American colonialism. America is not exceptional—in this vision—and should not be. The Iran deal reduces America’s strategic power and makes its prospects for interfering in the rest of the world less likely. Obama is not afraid of a stronger Iran as much as he fears a stronger America.
And the same mindset applies to the inner city. It is why three members of the administration were sent to pay respects at the funeral of a thug who fought a policeman for his gun and lost. The thug was perceived as a victim of the colonial police force.
It is why the minor altercation between Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates and the Cambridge police is worthy of the attention and prestige of the White House. Mr. Gates was a victim of the colonialism that oppresses black people daily.
In the end, Mr. Obama is remaking the Middle East, not in America’s interest, but in accord with a vision of America as a colonial power that projects power too easily. If his Kenyan father had a dream, Mr. Obama is fulfilling it both at home and abroad.

Return Of The ABL? Missile Defense Agency Works On Laser Drone « Breaking Defense

MDA Photo
The Airborne Laser Testbed, mothballed in 2012.
HUNTSVILLE, ALA.: Three years after the Missile Defense Agency mothballed its massive Airborne Laser, MDA is planning to reboot the concept for a new era.
The old ABL was Boeing 747 with a human crew and tanks of toxic chemicals to generate power. The new idea a high-altitude, long-endurance drone armed with a more compact electrically powered laser. But the technical and tactical challenge remains the same: building a laser-armed aircraft that can shoot down ballistic missiles at their most vulnerable, just after launch, without having to fly so close it gets shot down itself.
Frank Kendall
Frank Kendall
“The problem with boost phase is…you’ve got to get close enough,” Frank Kendall, the Pentagon’s procurement chief, told reporters at the Space & Missile Defense conference here. By closing in, he said, “you get a softer target: The booster, the rocket itself, is a lot softer than the reentry vehicles.” But if you’re close enough to shoot at a rocket right after it launches from enemy territory, you’re probably close enough for the enemy to shoot you.
“I was in the Pentagon when the Airborne Laser was proposed, and I asked questions about how many we would have to buy, how we’d know to put them in the air, and how we’d keep them alive,” Kendall recalled. “We didn’t have good answers to those questions, but we went ahead with the Airborne Laser anyway.”
The Missile Defense Agency will take an “incremental, step-wise, knowledge-based” approach this time, pledged the MDA director, Vice Adm. James Syring, in remarks to the Huntsville conference. “It is a very different approach than we did in the past of just leaping to something and investing everything we had.”
MDA will conduct experiments and review alternatives until 2018-2019, when Syring said it will pick “which technologies we think have the most promise.” Then a “low-power laser demonstrator” will fly circa 2021. When the full-power system will enter service is an open question, not answered in Syring’s brief.
Vice Adm. James Syring
Vice Adm. James Syring
MDA has already used existing drones to experiment with the systems required to aim the laser. “The work that we’re doing with the General Atomics Reaper and the work that we did with the Boeing Phantom Eye starts to show it can be done, in terms of these long-range sensing and tracking capabilities that we need,” Syring said.
The Missile Defense Agency is setting itself a higher bar than other military laser efforts. The Army,Air Force, and Navy have done “great work” on laser weapons for other missions, Syring said, but shooting down missiles in the boost phase requires much greater power, range, and beam quality. In fact, it may require higher performance than even the massive Airborne Laser managed.
In a successful 2010 test, ABL shot down a ballistic missile “tens of kilometers” away, Syring said, using about a megawatt of power. For the illustrative concept of operations the MDA director briefed at the conference — which he emphasized was not the only option — “we need to be hundreds of kilometers [from the target] in a platform that can go much higher and stay up for much longer.”
The manned Airborne Laser maxed out at an altitude of about 40,000 feet, where clouds and turbulence made it harder to keep the beam on the target. “65,000 feet is where we think we need to be,” said Syring, where the air is so thin that a laser beam can reach much farther.
Even in ideal atmospheric conditions, however, the power requirements are high: “hundreds of kilowatts to megawatt-class,” Syring said. “We’re today at tens of kilowatts in the lab with the beam quality we’re after.”
What matters is not just maximum power, but how much weight it takes to generate (power density), especially when you’re trying to fit the laser on an aircraft. The Airborne Laser took 55 kilograms (about 120 pounds) to generate a kilowatt of laser power, Syring said, which is why a megawatt (1,000 kW) took a 747. Electric lasers currently in the lab take 35-40 kilograms per kilowatt, and the MDA research program plans to drive that down by a factor of ten, to 3-5 kg/kW. MDA’s ultimate goal is 2 kg/kW, which would make a one-megawatt weight 5,000 pounds, something a drone could carry.
“If it had been easy we would done it by now,” Syring said. But given the rapid progress in laser technology, he went on, “it’s not a huge reach.”
“There’s a lot of work that has go on,” the admiral continued. In the traditional “crawl, walk, run” scheme, “we’re in crawl mode at this point,” he said, “but that doesn’t mean we should stop.”
“Is such a system in the realm of the possible?  Yes,” said Mark Gunzinger, a laser expert and advocate at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments. “Technology would support the development and possibly fielding of a 300 kilowatt or more solid-state laser within five years,” he told me. “Developing and integrating an SSL with a very high-altitude unmanned aircraft which would probably have to be designed from scratch would take longer, of course.”
“I think the most important point may be that MDA’s concept is not the ‘return of the ABL,'” Gunzinger went on. “MDA’s concept would take two maturing military technologies — unmanned systems and directed energy — and combine them to create a new weapon system that takes advantage of the attributes of both.”
Unlike a manned aircraft whose crew must land and rest, a drone can stay aloft for 24 hours or more. Unlike a chemically powered laser, or conventional missiles and guns for that matter, an electric laser can keep firing as long as the aircraft’s generators are running. A mid-air refueling both keeps the drone flying and “reloads” its ability to generate power for the laser. The combination of unmanned endurance and unlimited shots means a single drone could stay on station for days, instead of needing multiple manned aircraft to come and go in rotation.
What’s more, an electrical laser can dial its power up and down for different targets at different ranges. That would let the laser serve double duty, protecting the drone carrying it against enemy fighters and anti-aircraft missiles, Gunzinger said. It might even shoot down enemy aircraft at a distance, without having to wait to be attacked.
“Thinking of this as a ballistic missile killer may be too narrow,” Gunzinger said. If MDA can actually solve the boost-phase intercept problem, hard as that is, it will have built a laser-armed aircraft that’s lethally adaptable to other missions as well.

Russia Seizes More Territory in Ukraine, Eastern Europe with ‘Incremental’ Strategy

AP
BY: Daniel Wiser
Fighting has escalated in Ukraine six months after a ceasefire was supposed to end hostilities, raising fears that Russian-backed separatists could soon launch another offensive as the West focuses on other global crises.
Ukraine’s military reported 127 attacks on Monday by the pro-Russian rebels, including an assault by400 separatists and tanks about 30 miles north of Mariupol, a strategic government-held port in southeastern Ukraine. Four vehicles belonging to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe were also torched last weekend in Donetsk, one of two main separatist enclaves in eastern Ukraine.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry “expressed grave concern” Thursday about the escalation in rebel attacks in a phone call with Sergei Lavrov, his Russian counterpart. Kerry urged Russia to end its support for the separatists and stick to the Minsk ceasefire signed in mid-February.
The Kremlin has blamed Ukraine for the recent upsurge in attacks and has denied providing substantial support to the rebels, despite mounting evidence that it has sent thousands of Russian soldiers to aid the separatists.
Luke Coffey, a fellow at the Heritage Foundation’s Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom who studies European security issues, said in an interview that Russian President Vladimir Putin is pursuing a “very incremental, deliberate, slow” strategy in Ukraine. By taking small pieces of territory over a months-long conflict, he can blunt a concerted response from an international community that has devoted attention to other immediate issues, such as the Iran nuclear deal.
“Putin will do what he knows he can get away with,” Coffey said. “Right now he can get away with a lot.”
Coffey said the latest rebel attacks are likely a response to the European Union Council Summit in June, where foreign ministers agreed to extend economic sanctions on Russia through January 2016.
More than 6,500 people have been killed in Ukraine since rebels began launching attacks against government forces in April 2014. The fighting followed Russia’s annexation of the Crimean peninsula in March and the ouster of a pro-Moscow leader from Ukraine’s government.
The separatists’ next target is likely Mariupol, the heavily fortified port that they “desperately need” to connect Crimea with resources from the Russian mainland, Coffey said.
“[Mariupol] will be a tough nut to crack, but it is the major obstacle standing in the way of the separatists,” he said.
Ukraine is not the only former Soviet country where Russia has sought to expand its influence. Russian forces extended the border of South Ossetia—a breakaway territory that the Kremlin seized from Georgia in a 2008 war—by about a half-mile last month, gaining partial control of an international oil pipeline.
Coffey noted that Russia achieved “incremental progress” in Georgia while the United States and EU were concentrating on the conclusion of the Iran nuclear talks—in which Moscow participated—and the bailout referendum in Greece.
Additionally, the Baltic states, all members of NATO with large Russian-speaking minorities, have become increasingly concerned about a Russian incursion in their territories. Russia has launched cyber attacks against the countries in recent months and assumed an aggressive military posture toward their defenses.
NATO aircraft in Europe—which recently reduced its patrols by half—intercepted about 150 Russian bombers and fighters over the Baltic last year.
Analysts say Putin is unlikely to assume a less belligerent approach toward his neighbors in Eastern Europe as Russia’s economy, beset by low oil prices and Western sanctions, enters a recession. The Russian leader, unwilling to implement market-oriented reforms that could loosen his grip on power, has staked his regime’s legitimacy on the patriotic mobilization of his citizens against Western adversaries. That could mean more trouble ahead, Coffey said.
“Vladimir Putin’s reaped huge popularity from his actions in Ukraine,” he said. “Whose to say that he won’t push the envelope even further to boost his popularity even more?”
While U.S. forces have begun training troops in Ukraine’s National Guard, the Obama administration has resisted providing arms that Ukrainian leaders say they desperately need, including small rifles, ammunition, and anti-tank weaponry.
Most Republican presidential candidates for 2016 have said they support supplying lethal arms to Ukraine. However, Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of state and Democratic frontrunner, has yet to state a position. A spokesman for Clinton did not respond to a request for comment.
Gen. Raymond Odierno, the retiring U.S. Army chief of staff, joined other top military leaders on Wednesday in calling Russia the “most dangerous” threat to U.S. security, citing their threats to use nuclear weapons and destabilizing actions in Ukraine.
Increasing the sanctions on Russia and arming Ukraine, Coffey said, could incite a domestic backlash and finally alter Putin’s calculus after previous measures have failed.
“Russians are quite happy to eat feta cheese from the North Caucasus because they can’t eat feta cheese from Greece,” he said. “But when the body bags come home, people are going to start questioning what’s going on.”

Putin's Crimea visit aims to stir up Ukraine conflict: Poroshenko

KIEV (Reuters) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko criticized Russian leader Vladimir Putin for visiting Russia-annexed Crimea on Monday, saying his action was part of a plan to whip up tensions in eastern Ukraine.
"This is a challenge to the civilized world and a continuation of the plan to escalate the situation which is being carried out by Russian troops and their mercenaries in the Donbass (east Ukraine)," Poroshenko said in a Facebook post.
Putin visited Yalta in Crimea on Monday to promote tourism on the peninsula, according to the Kremlin's website. Referring directly to that, Poroshenko said Crimea had a future only as part of Ukraine and that included its "tourist" future.

Civilians and soldiers die in east Ukraine fighting, Putin in Crimea

World | Mon Aug 17, 2015 9:29am EDT

KIEV Fighting flared between Ukrainian forces and Russian-backed rebels in separate parts of eastern Ukraine overnight, killing at least two Ukrainian soldiers and several civilians, Kiev's military and separatist sources said on Monday.

The clashes, near the port of Mariupol in the southeast and at rebel-held Horlivka, further frayed an increasingly tenuous ceasefire as Ukraine prepared to mark its Independence Day next week.

Kiev accused the separatists of shelling civilians on the outskirts of Mariupol. In Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov blamed Kiev for the violence, giving no detail but saying he suspected Ukraine was preparing a new offensive.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko meanwhile accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of trying to whip up tensions in eastern Ukraine by visiting Crimea, which Russia annexed from Ukraine last year. The Kremlin said Putin was promoting tourism on the peninsula.

The escalation has drawn expressions of concern from Western governments, which regard the ceasefire and tentative peace agreement worked out in Minsk, Belarus, in February as still the best chance of ending the rebellion in eastern Ukraine.

Ukrainian military spokesman Andriy Lysenko said the rebels had used howitzers with a range of 15-16 km (10 miles) to shell Sartana, on Mariupol's northern edge.

"The enemy was not shelling Ukrainian positions, but a civilian town," he told a briefing. "The enemy has now adopted the tactic of firing and then quickly withdrawing. The next time they'll get a quick response. What has happened in Sartana is a challenge to our forces."

He said two Ukrainian soldiers had been killed and seven wounded by separatists in the past 24 hours.

"GRAVE CONCERN"

Regional police said at least one man and a young woman had been killed in Sartana.

"On one street there were five houses that were really badly damaged by shell fragments. One house had a well-tended garden with vines and a vegetable patch. But the house had been wrecked by shells and I saw an enormous pool of blood," a local news photographer, Mykola Ryabchenko, told Reuters by telephone.

The separatist website DAN quoted the separatist mayor of Horlivka as saying at least three people had been killed and four wounded as a result of government shelling of the town, a regular hot spot north of the main rebel stronghold of Donetsk.

Lysenko said the rebels had used heavy weapons including Grad rockets in attacks on government forces around Horlivka.

The upsurge in fighting combined with low oil prices on Monday to undermine Russia's rouble, which touched a six-month low against the dollar.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry last week expressed "grave concern" to Lavrov over a rise in separatist attacks, and urged an immediate halt to shooting.

Germany's foreign minister said the situation was explosive and urged the parties to prevent a spiral in violence.

More than 6,500 people have been killed in the conflict, which erupted in April 2014 after Russiaannexed Crimea in reaction to the fall of a Moscow-backed president in Kiev.

Moscow went on to support the rebels in pressing for greater autonomy but denies sending them soldiers or arms, despite what the West and Kiev say is irrefutable proof.

Poroshenko called Putin's visit to Crimea "a continuation of the plan to escalate the situation" as Ukraine prepares to mark its Independence Day on Aug. 24.

Hillary’s Emailgate: Understanding Security Classification

The rising scandal surrounding Hillary Clinton regarding her apparent misuse of unclassified email during her tenure as Secretary of State gets worse for the Presidential hopeful with each passing day. During the week now ending, I’ve explained in writing and in radio and TV appearances how Americans ought to look at this touchy matter.
Few Americans have ever dealt with Top Secret materials and understandably they are left perplexed by this complicated and mysterious subject. This is not helped by the fact that Clinton backers seek to blow off this scandal as “no big deal.” Obfuscation does not change the fact that the placing of highly classified information on an unclassified and unencrypted network is a very serious matter indeed, not to mention very likely a criminal act to boot.
To aid understanding of how security classification works in the real world of the Intelligence Community, I’m giving you a sample intelligence assessment which I will walk you through to illustrate how this plays out every day in Washington, DC.
Everything I’m presenting you is fake — Zendia for decades was used by the National Security Agency as its preferred made-up country in training exercises — but corresponds exactly to how the IC actually writes “finished” intelligence assessments based on multiple information sources, then classifies them.
Such assessments are authored every day by multiple American intelligence agencies and offices, then shared with senior leadership. The Secretary of State is always a top consumer of such intelligence. Moreover, the State Department has its own in-house intelligence analysis shop, termed the Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR) to meet their department’s need for additional classified assessments and reporting.
What follows is a short intelligence assessment of the kind U.S. Government officials read every single day, made up by me but adhering to the style and substance of what I used to do at work when I was an IC analyst.
TOPSECRET//SI//TK//NOFORN
(S) Economic, Political Problems for Zendia Ahead
(TS//SI) The Zendian Ambassador to Dirtbagistan believes it is increasingly likely that his country will fail to make its next International Monetary Fund (IMF) payment, scheduled for mid-September. This IMF payment of 475 billion Zendian wangos ($8.4 billion) is beyond his government’s ability to pay, Ambassador Abu Travolta explained to a senior member of his country’s Ministry of Finance (believed to be Deputy Finance Minister Abu Nugent) on 12 August. The ambassador further opined that, in the event of this likely default, the government of Prime Minister Barack Dukakis would not last long, politically. For this reason the Zendian government is going to great lengths to prevent word of the impending IMF default from reaching the media, according to Ambassador Travolta.
(TS//SI//TK) This information was supported by Zendian Deputy Foreign Minister Abu Bon Jovi, who last week informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) that budget constraints, which he expected to get significantly worse in mid-September, meant that MFA payrolls may not be met upon “something big” happening then. This is believed to be a reference to a possible default on Zendia’s IMF loan.
(S//NF) According to U.S. Government information obtained from multiple agencies, Ambassador Travolta is a well-connected member of the ruling party and is close to Prime Minister Dukakis. He has a track record of accurate predictions about forthcoming events in his country.
(FOUO) According to media reports, Ambassador Travolta has been experiencing health problems (NFI) which may indicate his willingness to be unusually frank with fellow members of the Zendian ruling party.
(U) This situation will be updated as soon as additional information becomes available.
TOPSECRET//SI//TK//NOFORN
Off the bat, you’ll notice the report’s overall classification, TOPSECRET//SI//TK//NOFORN, in big and bold letters at the top and bottom, which reflects the highest classification levels of anything incorporated in the assessment. Only people cleared to that level — here a very high one — can read this report.
Like any report, this has a title slug reflecting what it’s about. It’s classified S for SECRET: notice that each paragraph has its classification stated in parentheses at the beginning. This is called “portion marking” by the IC.
The first paragraph is classified TOPSECRET, the highest “official” classification in the U.S. Government, while the addition of SI, meaning Special Intelligence, indicates this is very sensitive stuff. SI is a security caveat that falls under the rubric of Sensitive Compartmented Information or SCI. Not everybody cleared for TOPSECRET also has access to SCI, that’s a separate matter and all SCI materials require special handling to protect them from compromise.
Here, SI indicates that the paragraph is based on information from signals intelligence or SIGINT from NSA — in this case an intercepted phone call between two senior Zendian officials. Although the report never states that this is SIGINT, the kind of information provided plus the SI caveat indicate this is based on NSA reporting, as anybody experienced with intelligence would immediately recognize.
The following paragraph is also based on NSA SIGINT, albeit from a different, even more sensitive source: the TK in its classification stands for TALENT KEYHOLE and indicates that information is derived from foreign communications intercepted by an intelligence satellite. This, again, is a conversation between top Zendian officials, so it’s valuable “horse’s mouth” information. Here two senior bureaucrats seem to corroborate each other, which is an important revelation.
The third paragraph has a lower classification, SECRET, is not based on SIGINT, and has the NOFORN caveat, meaning it cannot be shared with non-Americans (a good deal of NSA SIGINT, even at the TS/SI level, is shared with close foreign partners such as the Anglosphere Five Eyes countries). This paragraph is based on local classified assessments — probably from the US Embassy to Zendia as well as the CIA Station there — that are sent back as regular reports to Washington, DC about the political lay of the land in that country.
The last substantive paragraph isn’t classified at all but has the For Official Use Only marking, meaning it cannot be released to the public without official approval. It’s based on media reports, which represent an important source of information for the IC and the State Department. CIA’s Open Source Center is the IC’s hub for translating foreign media in many languages and, pound for pound, represents the best value in the Intelligence Community, in my opinion. Here, unclassified media (termed Open Source Intelligence or OSINT) by some, is used to round out the assessment, and how the analyst has reached a tentative conclusion based on that media is considered to be FOUO. NFI means No Further Information.
The last line is entirely unclassified, as indicated by the U at the beginning, and states simply that more information will be forthcoming on this issue as the analyst gets it.
That last line is the only part of the assessment that is wholly unclassified and, in theory, could be released to the public without a cumbersome approval process: of course, taken alone it says nothing of interest, which perhaps is the point.
The larger point, however, is that, save that last line, absolutely none of the information in this assessment could be released to the public, or placed on any unclassified information system, by anybody, not even a cabinet secretary, without specific approval from outside agencies. The SIGINT, in particular, is highly sensitive and could only be placed in unclassified channels with an explicit NSA (and probably Director of National Intelligence) go-ahead, which is rare.
Even “talking around” such information, especially in written fashion, is unwise and usually represents a serious security breach, not to mention it may be illegal. For example, this is how a top official who read that Zendian intelligence assessment might proceed:
1. “We’re hearing Zendia will probably default on its IMF loan.” (Marginally acceptable because there’s no attribution, no sources and methods are mentioned, though even so it’s really at least FOUO if it’s a cabinet secretary putting it in an unclassified email.)
2. “We’re getting intel that Zendia will probably default on its IMF loan.” (Unacceptable, a security violation, but not classified higher than SECRET due to lack of source attribution.)
3. “NSA says Zendia will default on its IMF loan in September.” (Absolutely unacceptable in any unclassified format, a compromise of TS//SI sources and methods….call the FBI.)
What exactly happened in the case of Hillary Clinton’s classified emails we don’t know yet, but the FBI is now on the case, and I’m sure the Bureau will eventually find out. What happens after that? It’s too soon to tell ….
