Members of the FBI surveillance teams that secretly track terrorists, spies and mobsters on U.S. soil are increasingly frustrated their mission is being hampered by internal politics and nepotism, according to interviews and documents.

FBI memos reviewed by The Washington Times show at least three younger relatives of high-ranking bureau supervisors have landed jobs on the elite surveillance teams in recent years, with two fast-tracked to full special agent status.

In addition, some FBI local offices that ranked high on a threat and needs matrix for surveillance were passed over for new teams last year in favor of more politically connected offices that ranked lower, the records show.

The worries have grown so widespread that one longtime decorated surveillance team member has sought whistleblower protection, taking his colleagues’ concerns to both the Justice Department’s inspector general and the Senate Committee on the Judiciary.

The whistleblower told The Times he initially went to supervisors, who dismissed the problems and then gave him a poor personnel review. So he then went to Congress because he fears current practices are jeopardizing the war on terror and the bureau’s counterintelligence operations.

“Who gets what surveillance teams — it’s now all about bias and favoritism and the good ol’ boy system,” the whistleblower said in an interview with The Times, speaking only on condition of anonymity because his identity is supposed to remain secret during surveillance. “My division — although we had the statistics to prove we needed more personnel — got skipped over because executive management had an ax to grind.”

Nov. 4, 2008, was the day when American politics shifted on its axis.

The ascent of an African-American to the presidency — a victory by a 47-year-old man who was born when segregation was still the law of the land across much of this nation — is a moment so powerful and so obvious that its symbolism needs no commentary.

But it was the reality of power, not the symbolism, that changed Tuesday night in ways more profound than meet the eye.

The rout of the Republican Party, and the accompanying gains by Democrats in Congress, mean that Barack Obama will assume office with vastly more influence in the nation’s capital than most of his recent predecessors have wielded.

The only exceptions suggest the magnitude of the moment. Power flowed in unprecedented ways to George W. Bush in the year after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. It flowed likewise to Lyndon B. Johnson after his landslide in 1964.

Beyond those fleeting moments, every president for more than two generations has confronted divided government or hobbling internal divisions within his own party.

The Democrats’ moment with Obama, as a brilliant campaigner confronts the challenges of governance, could also prove fleeting. For now, the results — in their breadth across a continent — suggest seismic change that goes far beyond Obama's 6 percent margin in the popular vote.

The evening recalled what activist Eldridge Cleaver observed of the instant when Rosa Parks refused to move to the back of the bus and a movement followed: “Somewhere in the universe a gear in the machinery shifted.”

Here are five big things about the machinery of national politics and Washington that will be different once Obama takes office on Jan. 20, 2009:

The crash of the conservative wave

For most of the past 30 years, since the dawn of the Reagan Era, conservatives have held the momentum in American politics. Even the Clinton years were shaped — and constrained — by conservative ideas (work requirements for welfare, the Defense of Marriage Act) and conservative rhetoric (“the era of Big Government is over”). Republicans rode this wave to win the presidency five of seven times since 1980, and to dominate Congress for a dozen years after 1994.

Now the wave has crashed, breaking the back of the modern Republican Party in the process.

Obama’s victory and the second straight election to award big gains to congressional Democrats showed that the 2006 election was not, as Karl Rove and others argued at the time, a flukish result that reflected isolated scandals in the headlines at the time.

Republicans lost their reform mantle. Voters who wanted change voted for Obama 89 percent to 9 percent. They lost their decisive edge on national security. They even lost the battle over taxes.

Republicans lost support in every area of the country. Virginia went Democratic, and North Carolina at midnight hung in the balance. Republicans still hold a significant, if smaller, chunk of the South and a smattering of western states. The cities were lost long ago. The suburbs fell last night — and even the exurbs are shaky.

Republicans lost one of their most effective political tactics. Portraying Al Gore or John F. Kerry as exotic and untrustworthy characters with culturally elitist values proved brutally effective for the GOP in 2000 and 2004, as it had in numerous other races for years. In 2008, such tactics barely dented Obama — who because of his race and background looked at first like a more vulnerable target — and they backfired against such candidates as Sen. Elizabeth Dole in North Carolina, who was routed badly after trying to paint Democrat Kay Hagan as an atheist.

The movement that brought so many conservatives to great power over the past 20 years — Gingrich, DeLay, Bush, Cheney and Rove — is left without a clear leader, without a clear agenda and without a clear route back.

The crash of the conservative wave does not necessarily mean the rise of a liberal one. By stressing middle-class tax cuts and the rights of gun owners Obama showed he is sensitive to hot buttons. But he will take power with the opposition party diminished, demoralized and divided by a draining internal argument about the future.

A Democratic headlock

Many people find Obama’s post-partisan rhetoric soothing. But it’s doubtful that these sentiments, even if sincere, reflect the reality of the new Washington.

This is a city that defines itself by partisanship. Politicians and the operatives they support play for the shirts or the skins and believe that one side’s gain is the other’s loss.

At the signing ceremony for the Obamacare legislation, Vice President Biden memorably told the president, “This is a big f****** deal.” The foreign policy equivalent of Obamacare is about to be signed by Secretary of State Kerry. It’s an agreement that will ensure Iran develops nuclear weapons in secret and in safety.

The context of the deal is so clear that even the Washington Post got it right. In a Saturday editorial, the Post wrote that the agreement will reward Iran for more than a decade of ignoring UN Security Council resolutions that had the single purpose of preventing it from developing nuclear weapons. Iran has been lying and cheating so long, only those dedicated to ignoring the facts could believe they would live up to any deal that would prevent them from developing and deploying nuclear weapons.

There’s a lot more to the context than the Post wrote. Saudi Arabia didn’t notify us before it formed its own coalition of nations to attack Iran’s proxy forces in Yemen. The reason, according to NBC’s Richard Engel, is that they feared we would leak their plans to Iran. That is a precise measure of how much they dislike and distrust Obama.

Joined by several other Arab nations including Jordan and Egypt, Saudi aircraft have attacked the Shiites and are about to send in as many as 100,000 ground troops.

At the same time, a small part of American air forces are occasionally attacking Islamic State forces in Iraq. They’re in effect supporting the Iranian troops and Shiite militias trying – so far unsuccessfully – to throw ISIS forces out of key Iraqi cities such as Tikrit. The Iranians object to our involvement on their side, but it’s continuing nonetheless.

25 Violations of Law By President Obama and His Administration

Obama Administration uses IRS to target conservative, Christian and pro-Israel organizations, donors, and citizens.

In an unprecedented attack on the First Amendment, the Obama Justice Department ordered criminal investigations of FOX News reporters for doing their jobs during the 2012 election year.

President Obama, throughout his Presidency, has refused to enforce long-established U.S. immigration laws. For example . . .

More than 300,000 captured illegal aliens had been processed and were awaiting deportation. But, incredibly, Obama stopped these deportations and ordered the U.S. border patrol to release many of these illegal aliens in violation of law and without explanation.
Congress rejected Obama's so called DREAM ACT – which would have granted permanent residency to many illegal aliens. So Obama enacted his own version of the DREAM ACT by Executive Order, thus directly defying Congress. According to Obama's Executive Order, illegal aliens can stay in America if they are under the age of 30, have been in America for at least five years, are enrolled in school or have graduated from high school, and have committed no felonies.

Obama has refused to build a double-barrier security fence along the U.S.-Mexican border in direct violation of the 2006 Secure Fence Act. This law requires that "at least two layers of reinforced fencing" be built along America's 650-mile border with Mexico. So far, just 40 miles of this fence have been built – most of it during the Bush Administration.

Obama's unconstitutional assault on your Second Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

President Obama issued, in one day, 21 separate Executive Orders that attack and undermine your Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

Especially egregious is President Obama's Executive Orders amending the ObamaCare law to allow doctors and hospitals to investigate which patients own a gun. This outrageous Executive Order could allow the federal government to track and monitor law-abiding gun owners simply because they sought medical care.

Obama's assault on Christians and religious freedom.

Obama's Health and Human Services Department has, on its own (without Congressional approval), issued a mandate that all health insurance plans must include coverage for abortion-inducing drugs. As a result, pro-life employers and taxpayers are now effectively required by law to pay for abortions.

This mandate is an unconstitutional attack on the protections for freedom of religion and freedom of conscience in the First Amendment and the 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act. This mandate also directly violates the ObamaCare law enacted by Congress, which prohibits any and all taxpayer funds from being used to pay for abortions.

Obama forced ObamaCare on an unwilling public through bribery and lying about its cost.

Obama managed to secure passage of ObamaCare by one vote in the Senate by bribing senators. He bribed Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska with the notorious "Cornhusker Kickback." He bribed Senator Mary Landrieu with the infamous $300 million "Louisiana Purchase."

In addition, Obama knowingly and blatantly lied to America and to Congress about how much ObamaCare would really cost. The cost of ObamaCare to the American people over the next 10 years will not be less than $1 TRILLION, as Obama promised in his nationally televised speech to the nation. Instead, the real cost of ObamaCare to the Federal Treasury is $2.4 TRILLION, according to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office.

But the true cost of ObamaCare is more like $10 TRILLION when you factor in the cost to the states, the cost to individual Americans who are now required to purchase Obama-approved health plans (the "Individual Mandate"), the cost of exploding health insurance premiums, the $716 billion ObamaCare steals from Medicare, and the increased cost to businesses of complying with ObamaCare mandates.

Operation Fast & Furious.

"Operation Fast & Furious" was the Obama Administration's gun-running scheme that put thousands of American-made semi-automatic weapons in the hands of Mexican drug cartels and resulted in the death of at least one U.S. Border Patrol Agent, Brian Terry. Obama's Attorney General Eric Holder lied to Congress and the public, claiming he didn't know about his Justice Department's Fast & Furious operation.

Congress has now held Holder in contempt for defying congressional subpoenas and refusing to turn over thousands of Justice Department documents on Fast & Furious. President Obama asserted Executive Privilege to try to protect Holder. But for Executive Privilege to apply, Obama would have had to have known about Fast & Furious, making the President as culpable as Holder.

Investigators suspect that Fast & Furious was an effort by the Obama Administration to discredit lawful gun ownership in America by purposefully creating gun crimes, thus inducing public outcry for gun control. When it put thousands of semi-automatic weapons in the hands of Mexican drug cartels, the Obama Justice Department knew these guns would be used to commit crimes, perhaps even kill some Americans. Then Obama could say: "See how dangerous these guns are. We must ban them."

Without Congressional approval, Obama gutted the work requirement for welfare recipients passed by Congress and signed into law by President Bill Clinton.

In the bailout of General Motors and Chrysler, Obama illegally shortchanged bond holders in favor of Labor Unions, despite U.S. bankruptcy laws that specify that bond holders be first in line to be paid back.

Eager to use the killing of Osama bin Laden for political gain, Obama exposed the identity and method of operation of the Navy SEALs team that conducted the operation in Pakistan, thus exposing its members to a lifetime of risk because they have been targeted for assassination by Islamists. A short time after Obama exposed the Navy SEALs' method of operation, 22 SEALs were shot down and killed in Afghanistan. It is a violation of law for the President or any American to reveal classified military secrets.

President Obama established an extra-constitutional top secret "kill list" of people (including Americans) who can be summarily killed on sight – presumably by drones -- without due process. Once on Obama's kill list, an American citizen can be targeted and executed on the opinion of a single government bureaucrat. That's not how our legal system is supposed to work.

Obama Administration officials twisted the arms of defense contractors to not issue layoff notices in October of 2012 so as to avoid causing bad news for Obama right before the election — even though federal law (the "WARN Act") requires such notices. ; Not only is this a violation of the WARN Act, it's also an unlawful use of federal officials for campaign purposes.

President Obama intervened militarily in Libya in 2011 without the Congressional approval required by the War Powers Act.

Obama knowingly lied to Congress and the American people about the killing of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Benghazi, Libya. The President and his representatives repeatedly said an anti-Islamic video sparked a spontaneous uprising in Libya that resulted in the killings even though Obama knew that the attack was a well-planned military-style assault by al Qaeda on the anniversary of September 11.

Michelle Obama's family trip to Africa in June of 2011, including a private safari at a South African game reserve, cost American taxpayers $424,000 for air travel alone. Mrs. Obama brought along both her makeup artist and hairstylist, as well as her mother, a niece and nephew, and her daughters, who were listed as "senior staff members."

Four years ago this month—on July 2nd, 2008—Obama delivered a speech in Boulder, Colorado in which he promised the creation and establishment of a “Civilian National Security Force.” He further promised it would be “just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded as the US Military.”

It is well known amongst dictators, the world over, that a private army is necessary to control the great unwashed masses over which they force their rule.

We have seen Obama steadily assume dictatorial powers over apathetic Americans in just three and a half years. He has all but hushed the people’s voice in government, the US Congress, by simply by-passing them and ruling by executive order—just like any other two-bit dictator. Some feel even the US Supreme Court has lost the steel from its collective spine under withering pressure from our budding domestic dictator, Obama.

If one did not know better, one would think there is a move afoot to institute a complete Marxist insurgency in America with Obama at the top—and —at the leading edge.

“The things done in every Marxist insurgency are being done in America today.” ... Retired Lt. General William G.“Jerry” Boykin says in a new video he has just released . Boykin is a decorated former Delta Force Commander, US Deputy Under Secretary for Defense, and a recipient of the Purple Heart.

General Boykin is troubled by Obama’s promise of a “Civilian National Security Force.” Boykin says the formation of such a force is included in the thousands of pages of the Obamacare Law, AKA: “The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.” Boykin says such a police force would be at Obama’s disposal and is similar to national police forces socialist tyrants used to complete their revolutions.

Then—there is the expected drive by Obama to regulate private gun ownership within the US, plus the nationalization of some leading industries, and even stricter regulation of key financial sectors of the US economy—and a pattern begins to emerge.

Boykin says all these moves by Obama fit the model used by societies when they move to Marxism.

These private armies/secret police forces have had different names throughout history but their records drip with blood and power and tyranny.

Lets look at just a few:

The Praetorian Guard was a special force of household troops used by Roman Emperors. Augustus saw the need to establish a body of soldiers explicitly loyal to himself. Following the death of Sejanus the Guards began to play an increasingly ambitious and bloody game in the Empire. With the right amount of money, or at will, they assassinated emperors, bullied their own Prefects, or turned on the people of Rome. In 41 Caligula was killed by conspirators from the senatorial class and from the Guard. The Praetorians placed Claudius on the throne, daring the Senate to oppose their decision.

In 1925 Adolf Hitler formed his own personal bodyguard called the Schutzstaffel (SS). The SS was a major Nazi organization under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party. The SS grew from a small paramilitary unit to an elite, powerful, force that served as the Fuhrer’s “Praetorian Guard’ the Nazi Party’s “Shield Squadron” and a force with as much political influence as the regular German Armed Forces. Built upon the Nazi racial ideology, the SS, under Heinrich Himmler’s command, is said to be primarily responsible for many of the war crimes perpetrated by the Nazis during World War Two.

In Obama’s speech in Colorado back in 2008 he said this:

“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

For those of you who traipsed into the voting booth and dropped a ballot for Obama, ask yourselves this: Has Obama described a “New National Brownshirts” organization to make sure you conform to the “Change” he promised to bring—and IS bringing?

Yes, it is called the “Civilian National Security Force.” But what will be its duties? What Obama described is another military unit separate from the current US Military.

Other countries have, or had, their national security forces. Countries like the old Soviet Union, Cuba, China, North Korea, and Venezuela, and in the past, Hitler’s own “SS,” and let us not forget the Iranian “Revolutionary Guard.” Glancing over this list of nations…did you happen to notice any similarities among them?

Alan Caruba, a friend and fellow blogger, said in November 2008: “Barack Obama wants to institute a Civilian National Security Force, a vast militia not unlike Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, a personal army. He knows he would need such a force to protect him and to enforce his will on Americans.” Alan went on to say: “If you want to see another civil war, just wait for this new security force to come into being. Obama would need it because the concept of Posse Comitatus forbids the use of the U.S. military to enforce laws within the nation. An army of domestic followers of “the One” would fill that need, assuming that all other law enforcement agencies failed to resist such a horrendous plan.”

Mr. Caruba is “spot on” as our Brit cousins used to say.

We have learned that ammunition sales and firearms sales are at an historical high currently within the United States. Americans are exercising their 2nd Amendment rights. Our forefathers put that amendment in the US Constitution for just such emergencies as the one we may be seeing develop right now.

Few American gun owners are aware that both Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are leaning on the US Senate to ratify the UN’s Small Arms Treaty which would regulate private gun ownership in America—superseding the US Constitution’s 2nd Amendment. Even if the US Senate does not ratify that treaty, how sure are we that the Obama administration will not find a way to do the same thing through a Presidential executive order?

Some say the US Supreme Court will never allow that to happen. After what the SCOTUS just did—just days ago—by finding Obamacare constitutional—do you REALLY want to count on them to stand up to Obama? REALLY?

And what’s to stop our wanna-be dictator President from regulating private ownership of guns in America —by executive order?

Now, here is the bone chilling truth: SOME American citizens will be, as usual, completely happy to allow the government to do whatever it wants as long as nothing is required of them. However, by and large, Americans will not sit idly by and allow a President (or a Congress) to go “rogue” on us without resisting with whatever means necessary.

At the risk of being referred to as some sort of Swamp Pundit, allow me to assure you it takes no special skill, no special talent, or gift, to know there will be domestic violence in America’s future. The country is ruptured now—and seething with anger. Obama’s tossing of salt into the wound with his own “Praetorian Guard” will have no curative effect. In fact, it could easily ignite the smoldering powder keg that is America today.

So what do we do?

First—make sure Obama is NOT reelected in November! Second—repeal Obamacare!

Remember: If Obama is reelected in 2012, the chances of an election, at all, in 2016 is almost nil.

The Dow Jones industrial average, the stock index that represents the wealth and welfare of the Nation, is collapsing before our eyes. With the Dow down almost 1,000 points in just three weeks, I have no doubt that President Barack Obama’s personal police force, his Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), is on standby to engage American citizens in big cities and country communities.

Anyone who believes that JSOC, which originally numbered in the dozens and is now 25,000 strong, was built up to its current size to deal with a few thousand Muslim extremists is disconnected from reality.

“We’re the dark matter. We’re the force that orders the universe but can’t be seen,” a Navy SEAL and JSOC soldier told The Washington Post in 2011.

From whom does this dark force take orders? The son of a Kenyan Marxist commands them. JSOC operates exclusively under the orders of the President of the United States and the Secretary of Defense. What would mobilize this super army into combat? It certainly wouldn’t be some Muslim militants living in the desert 8,000 miles away, sleeping beside their camels and reading from the Quran.

The real purpose of JSOC may be to deal with the millions of Americans who may revolt after years of suffering a sick economy and an onrushing calamitous financial crisis. Many Americans who were once blind can now see. They recognize that the emperor, Barack Obama, has no clothes. They know that the President ruefully ignores the Constitution.

To what extent will Obama and his ruling elite go? The only logical answer is that they will bring any force necessary to protect Obama’s vision of what America should be. The trigger will be a financial collapse, beginning with the Dow and ending with the dollar. It is already set in motion. How Federal Workers Became Obama’s Private Army

The United States established the Civil Service 142 years ago, in response to the massive corruption that followed from the previous “spoils system” in Washington DC. Prior to that, all federal employees served at the pleasure of the President, and jobs got handed out to those who boosted the fortunes of the party in power.

The result was rampant abuses of power, payoffs and kickbacks, and unaccountable performances at the federal level. It took nearly 40 years to transform the federal workforce into an independent and professional corps, and almost 70 years before Congress formally forbade civil-service workers from conducting political activities, through the Hatch Act of 1939.

Seventy-four years later, the civil-service system has been exposed as a failure – at least in this administration. Instead of an independent workforce of professionals who implement federal regulation in an even-handed and competent manner, we have returned to the era of partisan retribution and politically-motivated malevolence.

This goes far beyond the simple incompetence of government eminently displayed by the Department of Health and Human Services in its rollout of the Affordable Care Act exchanges. Despite having three and a half years between the passage of the ACA and the start date of the exchanges, the federal and state websites launched on October 1st – and promptly crashed.

Media outlets tried finding someone, anyone, who successfully navigated the system, only to come up with one person who just happened to be a volunteer at Organizing for America – which spent all year promoting Obamacare. CBS News called this a “unicorn” hunt , while USA Today ripped the Obama administration for the “inexcusable mess” and “nightmare” of the exchanges.

Not that the administration didn’t try to make excuses. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and President Obama both cited heavy site traffic as the reason for the failures, as well as demonstration of the pent-up demand for health-care coverage. That explanation fails to acknowledge that this is not a private-sector commercial web portal selling voluntary products or services, but a government site set up to impose and enforce a mandate to buy required insurance policies. The traffic levels – eight million hits over the first three days – barely surpasses the Drudge Report, and the ACA collected billions in taxes over the last three years to prepare for the rollout.

This, however, pales in comparison to the politicization of the civil service exposed over the last few months at the IRS, and perhaps even more so in the shutdown. In May, the Inspector General for the IRS found that the agency had targeted groups applying for tax-exempt status on the basis of their political beliefs, especially those groups that referenced the Tea Party. Those target lists continued to be used as IRS officials such as Commissioner Douglas Shulman testified to Congress that the agency conducted no such targeting.

Nor was that that the only way in which the IRS scrutinized President Obama’s opposition. USA Today reported three weeks ago that the IRS specifically targeted groups that had "anti-Obama rhetoric" in their literature.

In one case, with an application from the Patriots of Charleston, the IRS flagged “negative Obama commentary” on their website as a reason to hold up approval for their tax-exempt application. For the Tea Party of North Idaho, “significant inflammatory language, highly emotional language” was enough to start peppering the group with demands to release information on their donors and the companies owned by those donors.

Even this pales in comparison to the example shown by the National Parks Service during the shutdown. There is nothing new about the Washington Monument strategy, of course, which dates back to a 1969 attempt to trim the NPS budget. George Hartzog, then director of the NPS, closed the Washington Monument and the Grand Canyon National Park ostensibly as a cost-saving measure, but really to force the public to pressure Congress to restore NPS funding. Congress relented two weeks later, but Hartzog resigned.

When the shutdown went into effect last week, NPS reacted not by going off the job or closing national parks alone, but by actively blocking access to areas normally accessible 24/7 without impediment. That included putting up signs and guards at the World War II Memorial on the National Mall, despite the fact that (a) the memorial was built with private funds, and (b) there are no gates or barriers under normal conditions at the memorial – nor at the Lincoln Memorial, nor at the Martin Luther King Memorial, both of which were similarly shut down by the National Parks Service.

When people simply moved the barricades to access the memorials, the supposedly shut down NPS arrived on scene to wire them together . When people gathered anyway, the US Park Police arrived on horseback to disperse them. Stephen Hayes asked an NPS spokesperson who ordered these actions, and was told that the Office of Management and Budget – a White House agency – ordered them to barricade the memorials.

It gets even worse than that. Unknown at the time but reported this week, the National Parks Servicechased down a group of senior citizens at Yellowstone National Park when the shutdown commenced on October 1st. After informing the busload of tourists, some of whom were tourists from other countries, that the park was no longer accessible, the rangers locked them into a closed hotel for several hours with armed guards posted at the exits. When finally allowed to get back on the bus and leave Yellowstone, rangers stopped the tourists from pausing to take pictures, chasing after them for “recreating.”

That arguably constitutes kidnapping or false arrest, especially conducted under color of authority for no other reason than to score political points in the shutdown. One of the tourists called it “Gestapo tactics,” and an NPS ranger anonymously confirmed this as a deliberate strategy by NPS. “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can,” the anonymous ranger told The Washington Times. “It’s disgusting.”

It certainly is, and it’s part of a disturbing pattern emerging in the second term of Barack Obama. When law enforcement and tax enforcement become rankly political, Americans can no longer trust in their federal government, even when it’s not shut down – and that won’t stop after Obama leaves office, either. We are getting a clear lesson on the risks of larger government and regulatory overreach, and those risks go far beyond incompetence. Let’s hope this serves as a wake-up call – and let’s demand that Congress hold those accountable in the IRS and National Parks Service for their uncivil service.

Federal Fire Power: Instead of putting a lien on the property of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, the Bureau of Land Management surrounded his ranch with 200 armed agents. It's not the only agency with a private army.

Back in 2008, candidate Barack Obama slipped a little-noticed line in a speech, proposing a national police force reporting straight to him.

"We cannot continue to rely only on our military," he said. "We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

As our military is slowly decimated by his policies and budget cuts — and with federal agencies armed to the teeth — we may be seeing what he had in mind at the ranch of a 67-year-old Nevadan.

Agents of a federal agency that many Americans were surprised to see so heavily armed even herded American citizens into "First Amendment zones," another surprise to those who thought the Constitution made the entire U.S. such a zone.

"The government's option," said Fox News contributor and former Judge Andrew Napolitano, "is to take the amount of money (Bundy) owes them and docket it — that is, file the lien on his property. The federal government could have done that.

"Instead, they wanted this show of force. They swooped in . . . with assault rifles aimed and ready and stole this guy's property, they stole his cattle. They didn't have the right to do that. That's theft, and they should have been arrested by state officials."

The Environmental Protection Agency also has a private army. In late August 2013, armed EPA agents joined agents of the Alaska Environmental Crimes Task Force and swarmed gold mines near Chicken in the Last Frontier State.

In groups of four to eight, they even wore body armor and carried guns while investigating a supposed violation of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.

That raid drew attention to the fact that some federal agencies, including the Library of Congress and the Federal Reserve Board, have divisions employing armed officers.

Other federal agencies participating in the operation were the Fish and Wildlife Service, Coast Guard, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Park Service and, yes, Bureau of Land Management.

That's right: NOAA, whose dangerous job is to forecast the weather, monitor the atmosphere and keep tabs on the oceans and waterways, has its own law enforcement division.

It has a budget of $65 million and consists of 191 employees, including 96 special agents and 28 enforcement officers who carry weapons. Why does a weather service need ammunition?

We have pointed out the massive purchase of ammunition by the Department of Homeland Security that's estimated to provide DHS a thousand more rounds per agent than soldiers in the Army.

But DHS is not alone.

Some 70 federal agencies, including those not associated with national security or crime fighting, employ about 120,000 full-time officers authorized to carry guns and make arrests, according to a June 2012 Justice Department report.

The Agriculture Department recently put in a request for 320,000 rounds.

Not long ago, the Social Security Administration put in a request for 174,000 rounds of ".357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow-point" ammo. NOAA put in a request for 46,000 rounds.

"We're seeing a highly unusual amount of ammunition being bought by the federal agencies over a fairly short period of time," said Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Washington-based Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep & Bear Arms. "To be honest, I don't understand why the federal government is buying so much at this time."

Maybe we can ask Cliven Bundy.

Roger Ailes Was Reportedly Concerned That Obama's Speech Meant He "Wanted To Create A National Police Force"

New York Magazine: Ailes "Was Concerned That Obama Wanted To Create A National Police Force." In a profile published by New York magazine on Ailes, the president of Fox News, author Gabriel Sherman reported that Ailes told Obama aide David Axelrod that he was "concerned that Obama wanted to create a national police force." From New York magazine:

For Fox, the war with the White House only stoked ratings. A Fox executive told Clemente that the White House's attacks were like "a hanging curveball" for Fox.

While Dunn and others publicly engaged Fox, David Axelrod worked back-channel diplomacy as the good cop. About a week before Dunn's CNN appearance, Axelrod secretly sat down with Ailes at the Palm in midtown. They met before the restaurant opened to avoid drawing attention. Axelrod told Ailes they should try to defuse things and work together.

Going back to the 2008 campaign, Axelrod had maintained an off-the-record dialogue with Ailes. He had faced off against Ailes in a U.S. Senate campaign in the early eighties and respected him as a fellow political warrior and shaper of narrative. But early on, Axelrod learned he couldn't change Ailes's outlook on Obama. In one meeting in 2008, Ailes told Axelrod that he was concerned that Obama wanted to create a national police force.

"You can't be serious," Axelrod replied. "What makes you think that?"

Ailes responded by e-mailing Axelrod a YouTube clip from a campaign speech Obama had given on national service, in which he called for the creation of a new civilian corps to work alongside the military on projects overseas.

Glenn Beck Repeatedly Pushed A Similar Myth, Claiming Obama Wanted To Create His "Own Army"

In September 2008, Beck Claimed Obama "Has Already Deployed An Army Of 2,200 Community Organizers." On September 5, 2008, Beck said:

BECK: This from Investors Business Daily: Barack Obama was a founding member of the board of Public Allies in 1992. You go to the website, Public Allies, and you are going to see that it's just a community organizer. That's all this is, just community organization. Barack Obama, founding member of the board of Public Allies in 1992. His wife became the executive director of the Chicago chapter of Public Allies in 1993. Got it? Obama plans to use the nonprofit group which he features on his campaign website as the model for a national service corps.

We've heard about this national service corps, haven't we? Universal voluntary public service. When Michelle Obama said he'll never allow you to sit idly by again, he will never allow you to be unengaged. What does that mean? Universal voluntary public service, a national service corps. Quoting from the story: Our alumni from Public Allies are more than twice as likely as 18 34 year olds to engage in protest activities. Public Allies boasts in a document found with its tax filings. It has already deployed an army of 2,200 community organizers like Obama to agitate for "Justice and equality" in his hometown of Chicago and other U.S. cities including Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, New York, Phoenix, Pittsburgh and Washington. Cincinnati recruit Amy Vinson said, "I get to practice being an activist and I get paid for it." The Obamas' plan is to herd American youth into government funded reeducation camps where they will be brainwashed into thinking that America is a racist, oppressive place in need of social change. The pitch Public Allies makes on its website doesn't seem that radical. It promises to place young adults 18 30 in a paid one year community leadership position with nonprofit or government agencies. They will also be required to attend weekly training workshops and three retreats.

A Public Allies training seminar in Chicago describes heterosexism as a negative byproduct of capital quoting of capitalism, white supremacy, patriarchy and male dominated privilege, end quote. By the way, your tax dollars now fund about half of Public Allies' expenses, through Bill Clinton's AmeriCorps. Obama wants to fully fund it and expand it to a national program some say will cost $500 billion.

In July 2009, Beck Claimed Obama "Wants To Create A Civilian Army" Of "Community Organizers" "More Well-Funded Than The Military." During the July 27, 2009, edition of his Fox News show, Beck stated:

BECK: Obama handles every issue like a community organizer would, and he wants to create a civilian army. Anybody remember this from the campaign? A civilian army in the form of community organizers more well -- I'm quoting him "more well-funded than the military." Last year he said, and I quote, "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we have set. We have got to have a civilian national security force that is just as powerful, just as strong, and just as well-funded." You got to be kidding me. In August 2009, Beck Suggested A "Civilian National Security Force" Would Be Part Of Obama's "Thugocracy." During the August 27, 2009, edition of his Fox News show, Beck claimed that Obama was creating a "civilian national security force that is just as strong, just as powerful as the military." From Fox News' Glenn Beck:

BECK: I believe, just so you know going in, that this is probably the most controversial show of the week, because you must understand the last three episodes of the show to be able to see and come to a place to where you can believe that these crazy things may actually be happening. I want you to know. I hope these things are not happening. I hope that there is some other explanation. But I needed you to see who is advising the president earlier this week and what they're doing and who they are before I could ask you to look at this phrase from Barack Obama and think that the president of the United States literally means this.

Here's why I ask that question. Who are we fighting exactly? Who internally is threatening our security? It's clearly not because we feel there is a threat from illegal aliens crossing the border. Nobody in the government, this administration or the last, has a problem with what's going on in the border. And anyone who would say that there has been a problem has been deemed a racist. A civilian national security force on the border is called the Minute Men. And the attitude from this administration as well as the Bush administration was that they were vigilantes. So it's not for the border.

It can't be a national civilian -- a national security force against Islamic extremists. I say this honestly, because according to this administration, we're not even at war against Islamic extremists anymore. Is this administration expecting us to believe that they're going to ask of the American people to profile and call in tips on Muslim Americans who act suspiciously? In August 2009, Beck Said Obama's "National Security Force" Is "What Hitler Did With The SS."During the August 27, 2009, edition of his Fox News show, Beck claimed that Obama was trying to create a "national security force" like "Hitler did with the SS." From Fox News' Glenn Beck:

BECK: Who is the enemy that we need a national security force inside? Who is the enemy? Can you come up with anybody?

DAVID BELLAVIA (vice chairman, Vets for Freedom): You. I really don't know, Glenn. You know what it comes down to though, and I want to make this comparison. I am not comparing my president to Saddam Hussein or to Hitler or anything else. I want your audience to understand something from a military point of view. When Saddam Hussein lost confidence in his army in '91, when they capitulated, when they quit, when they stopped following his orders, he created and he supported, re-supported what was called a Fedayeen -- a group of loyalists who weren't loyal to the country or the flag. They were loyal to the office of president and to the man who held that office. And what we're seeing now is a complete disconnect to the warrior class in America, to the military, and to the left. They never had a common denominator. They never had a way to understand us. So you know what? We don't need you.

If we have to enforce, let's say, I don't know, polling laws, we want to keep polling intimidation down in 2012, we'll send in our Civilian Corps. If we want to make sure the census is run correctly and the right people are counted, we'll bring in our Civilian Corps. If we want to, I don't know, take away the arms of radical militias in South Texas, bring these guys in. This is scary stuff.

BECK: But I mean, I'm finding this -- this is the hardest part to connect to because this is -- I mean look. You know, David what you just said is, you said "I'm not comparing," but you are. I mean, this is what Hitler did with the SS. He had his own people. He had the brownshirts and then the SS. In April 2010, Beck Revised His "Civilian Army" Theory: "It's Called The Unions." During the April 12, 2010, edition of his radio show, Beck claimed: "People say: 'Oh, Barack Obama's building a civilian defense force, a civilian army.' He has one. It's called the unions. In October 2010, Beck Stated That Hugo Chavez's "Idea" Of A "Civilian Militia" Is An Idea "From This [U.S.] President." During the October 4, 2010, edition of his radio show, Beck stated:

BECK: After the next election, I think your radicals on the left are going to gear up. Remember, what they do best is hurt people that are in power, cause tension, stir it up, antagonize, get into the streets. They're not good at ruling. They're good at causing trouble. Well that's what -- now it's time for that. And if you think that's crazy let me just tell you that Chavez has vowed to radicalize after the election. His election, they've just lost of -- he lost a lot of power and a lot of seats, and so he said, "Fine, we're going to turn up the heat." And they've gone more radical. I believe that's what's going to happen here. Chavez says there is a new civilian militia, a new civilian army that should be armed full-time. Well, I think I've heard that from the president of the United States -- that very idea from this president before the last election. In May 2011, Beck Offered Up "Civilian Defense Force" Theory As Evidence That Obama Hates The Police. From the May 11 edition of Premiere Radio Networks' The Glenn Beck Program:

STU BURGUIERE (producer): You know, there are some people who would say this is just stupid, it's stupid. But there's some people who say of all the stuff we talk about with the administration, and you know, sometimes you can't figure out Barack Obama, but rarely does he seem to do anything that would make you believe the opposite of that he really sees cops in the negative light. He really sees them --

BECK: Only when they act stupidly.

BURGUIERE: No, I --

PAT GRAY (co-host): What racist hater would say something like that, Stu?

BURGUIERE: Some people. We're getting calls from tea party members who are pointing out

GRAY: Oh no, hang right on up on those people.

BURGUIERE: that of all the things you say about this administration--

GRAY: Hang up on them.

BURGUIERE: man that one seems really to the core. That one seems really to the core. It seems like he's very consistent on coming out on the strange side of cop issues. Some tea party members are saying it.

BECK: They are the oppressors. They're the oppressors.

BURGUIERE: Exactly.

BECK: They're the oppressors, the cops. You know what we need?

BURGUIERE: What's that?

BECK: Is we need a civilian defense force that is just as well-funded. That's not my words. I'm not saying that. I wouldn't want that. You know? But if you think that the cops are all out of control.

GRAY: Then maybe --

OBAMA [video clip]: We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.

GRAY: Maybe Common could head that civilian force up.

BECK: No, I believe that will be headed up by Van Jones.

Members of the Huey P. Newton Gun Club, held rifles as they chanted violent anti-cop statements while walking the streets of Austin, Texas during the South by Southwest festival.

Infowars reporter Lee Ann McAdoo speaks to the group’s spokesperson to try and understand what their message really is.

The group chanted several anti-police slogans, including, “A pig is a pig, that’s what I said, the only good pig is a pig that’s dead,” and “Oink! Oink! Bang! Bang!” while heading towards the Texas capitol.

Obama Openly Supported the New Black Panthers on Campaign Website [PROOF]

It seems that Barack Obama’s ties with the New Black Panther Party extend far beyond the free pass given the group by the DOJ on voter intimidation in Philadelphia during the 2008 presidential race.

Photos have come to light showing the then candidate Barack Obama marching with and sharing the podium with Panther National Chief Malik Zulu Shabazz during a campaign rally in Selma, Ala. in March 2007. (H/T Breitbart.com [Breitbart’s pictures aren’t loading presently–to see pictures visitTownhall.com here]). Shabazz was the same Panther that was investigated by the DOJ for voter intimidation in Philly and is suspected as the same “Malik Shabazz” that visited the White house private residence in July 2009.

Yet the biggest bombshell may be how Barack Obama not only openly supports the New Black Panthers on the campaign trail but on his website as well.

On the 2008 Obama campaign website (H/T moonbattery.com) there was a profile on the radical group along with a picture of their symbol.

The New Black Panther Party is at best a hate group, and at worst a terrorist organization that advocates for black militants to rise up and form an army to “shock” the conscience of the population.

The fact that our president would openly support this group in public, much less associate with them on a campaign website, is beyond comprehension.

Obama’s failure to reign in this hate group and the fact that Eric Holder gave them a free pass will probably damage the credibility of the offices of the President and the Attorney General for years to come.

Once again the liberal media’s news blackout and slanted narrative, coupled with white guilt and an uninformed electorate, allows another insight into who this president really is to slip through the cracks.

If this were any other president something like this would bring down the administration. But the media is too invested in Barack Obama’s presidency to ever publicize this.
