Putin wades into Syria's civil war

M.N.: Is it possible that the Russian intelligence, as part of their operations, in the most perverted twist, using the undiscovered yet moles and/or some double agents, sets up the circumstances or feeds the information to the counterintelligence community to discredit, neutralize and socially-politically (if not sometimes physically) eliminate their most determined opponents, critics or undesirable for them politicians and officials, whom they cannot sway to their side or recruit? And do this, gleefully, using the hands and tools of the U.S. law enforcement? I think that this is entirely possible, and more than that, very likely; it would be very much in line with their criminal mentality and their operational habits. Maybe the FBI's Internal Affairs Department and the counterintelligence specialists should consider this very seriously and direct and focus their efforts towards uncovering these types of operations and operators. The NYTimes described this very convincingly: the pattern is there.
