The comments were Putin’s first public reaction to the Panama Papers, a leak of millions of documents from a Panamanian law firm that for decades has helped some of the world’s most prominent leaders set up offshore accounts, shell companies and other transactions. At least 1,634 people were executed last year – a rise of more than 50 percent in 2015 and the highest in 25 years.
